Good asset pack, but falls short of great

Hiring a pixel artist to make custom characters for your games is very expensive. I know that artists spend lot of time and effort on their art, but getting a full set of characters for your RPG can cost thousands of dollars! Considering that you probably don't want to spend months of your salary on artwork, premade packs are the way to go.

This particular asset pack is part of a much bigger set of assets called "Time Fantasy". Time Fantasy asset packs focus heavily on the "classic" RPG style, with limited yet colorful pallettes. Now these characters are great for that very specific niche. Trust me, if you want to make a RPG that looks remotely modern, do NOT get this. It will make your RPG look extremely dated (for better or worse).

PROS:
Let's start with the major benefits of the pack. What you see is what you get. You get 80+ characters in a retro style that you can just drag-n-drop into your game. It's a simple concept and doesn't require any work on your part to use. Some assets now-a-days, you have to register your asset, sign up with e-mail, blah blah blah before you can even use it! Thankfully, this one is very straight-forward.

CONS:
What I really dislike about this pack is that there isn't a character generator. All of these characters are prebuilt with no options for customization. If you want to customize anything, you will have to go into a program like photoshop and cut and paste pieces together by hand. Considering how many animations, weapons, etc. come with each character, expect to spend at least 2 hours per character.

I have no idea why the creator didn't just include a .PSD file or even a small dress up program with the assets. All the characters are drawn on the exact same base, so it's not like each character is too unique to make a generator. To me, this just seems like laziness on the part of the asset creator.

OVERALL:
If you're planning on making a classic RPG but don't have enough money to hire an artist, this pack is perfect for you! Keep in mind that you will be restricted to premade characters (unless you're willing to invest dozens of hours into editing), and you'll be golden!
